Hollow Man

This poem is inspired by the sculpture "Melancholy" (2012) by Albert Gyorgy (Romania). It is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Hollow man By Michelle Morris 11/07/2020 The hollow man sits Bent and alone On a bench in the park Where he has a home. No one seems to Care anymore - When he is seen by passersby They don't stare or adore. He gave up his feelings As he did his life - No longer caring If he lives or dies. He lost too much He lost too well He has become Hollow An empty shell. Whether cold or warm Light or dark He still sits there - Alone He sits in the park. © Michelle Morris, 2020

Absolutely... I find a lot of inspiration in art and nature. Take care and stay safe.

Enjoyed this sad offering Michelle, it is well thought out, it's a pity when someone reaches that hollow point in life that they give up. I too wrote a poem of the same name, although the person in my poem lived a debauched and shallow life so when he reached the end there was no one left in his life that cared about him and he dies alone.

Thanks for your sharing your insight and experience... I generally try to write positive and uplifting poems but am mindful that there are issues that need to be highlighted too...
