Hollow

Youth passes us by
In the blink of an eye
Never explaining
Or even asking why
Years quickly fading
Like light
Just before dark
The band quit playing
The music never stopped
Memories can be painful
Scars sure can hurt
Alone we are born
And placed in the dirt
Life can be bitter
A difficult pill to swallow
So I sit alone
Attempting not to feel hollow

Happiness passes in a blink while sorrow crawls.. Deep thoughts..
