"holidays"

On "Holidays" there is so much pressure to
have fun,
Even when the mood is somber and melancholy,
The heat is on to celebrate and act jolly,
People go above and beyond their norm,
to convince themselves that life is one
big party,
throwing caution to the wind and forgetting
about tomorrow,
reveling in reckless abandon then creating sorrow,
Life is good just soaking up surroundings, and
listening to the quietness that lurks within,
instead of overcompensating and wearing ourselves
thin............
