Hole

Just breathing the same air as you
Hurts me so I feel my soul is torn
I regret so many things within my life
But nothing half so much as being born

When you laid your hands upon me and you held me close
As I lay there in your arms what did you see
What moved you so when you looked deep into my eyes
That hate was your very first feeling for me

As through the many years that passed I swiftly grew
So seemed a rift between us which has driven us apart
But now through eyes unclouded by either fear or hate
I sadly see the icy rift is a hole within my heart
