Holding You Tight

How does one keep bad thoughts at bay, And keep the fuzzy memories away? Find a tale in the night, Hold it near and hold it tight. Nothing Mystical or magic, Nor too calm or sporadic. It can be a person near, To help you rest and calm the fear. Can be funny, can be nice, Overall a large but worthy price. This person's smile radiates, Then the problems dissipate. Somebody else joins the mix, You feel like it's broken but what to fix? You feel a presence drift away, But things'll be better the next day. They never came back you've been waiting for years, Their long lasting absence has confirmed all your fears. Your laying awake no tale at night, You wanted to hold them close, to hold you tight.
