Holding Unto Me

Say you will
protect me from
the tidal waves of destruction
Say you will
adore me,
even if I open up the door of corruption
I’m drifting away
into another black hole
in my mind
I’m fading away;
into the eerie night,
I sway…
now,
I’m growing blind…
Left behind,
only to find
your shadows,
reflecting my own
Well, I have faith
that God will be with me
in the long run,
for he’s my backbone
I am on my own,
but not alone…
I answered His call
when I heard my phone…
Blasting off in the middle of nightfall…
He encouraged me to stand tall…
Taking flight at last
Tragedy drags me down – alas!
