Holding On

Silent tears
running
the race
where there are
no winners
only
last place.

A heart that's
fallen
too far
from grace
with dreams that
are lost and
cannot be
replaced.

A memory
of you
I choose to
embrace
and that
empty vase
on the
table

just
in case.
