Hold Your Head High
Hold your head high!
Though the rain may fall
And those around appear dry,
You stand, unwavered,
Not asking for material things,
But the expectations of decency.
Hold your head high!
When those fools laugh,
Take not pity on yourself,
But pray for them.
For they never will attain
The real wealth you now have.
Hold your head high!
You’ve taught your family and friends
That success isn’t defined by man,
But rather defined internally.
It is true that we are never alone
And your true value is set by He who is with you.
Hold your head high!
For when you gave of yourself,
You gave to the foundation of man.
You helped to build the structure
Where which your children can stand
And learn and define themselves as you had taught them.
Hold your head high!
Though the crowds always gather
And cast stones as they do,
Remember, He, who was before you.
For it is his path you now walk.
Would you ever want to be anywhere else?
Hold your head high!
