Hold My Purse Until I Get Back

Hold My Purse Until I Get Back By Elton Camp Robert’s wife sees a long-lost friend And leaves him with her purse to tend Somehow, that makes him fair game For any snide remark, however lame A man calls out, “Why hi there homo You carry your purse wherever you go.” Then a young woman makes a catty cry “Why, for a purse like yours I’d die.” Robert just grins but he doesn’t mind She leaves & he gets a peek at her behind At the next rude sneer he knows what to do “Watch out or I’ll snap my compact at you.” Because in his own masculinity he’s okay He can laugh at people who talk that way “My friends all know I don’t carry a purse So why at total strangers should I curse?”

Deb, I don't often hold my wife's purse, but when it have, it NEVER fails that people passing will make remarks of that type. It doesn't bother me at all. They're just having fun and even if they are serious, what do I care what they think! Elton
