Hold
Immortal rebound, hold the loss
of grace in kind, I so repent,
some answering of heart's dissent
surrounds with moral ego's gloss!
In constancy, the voice impound
in aggravating columns hound,
Oh, Peace, help me not so resent
the efforts wailing, loudness bound!
This vision's counsel, learned sake
what reprimand, which stand to take,
the diplomatic goal to wit
unknowing outcome, franchised fit?
To live hope's vision, contemplate
while words assailing hinder sound,
the throw of it not duplicate
by speaking not . . . I hold my ground!
