Hit Or Miss!

Such inanity seeking a deity's benevolence
when the world is spinning out of control,
pleading for magical, divine intervention
to shield me safely from the storm.

Too often holding back, You self-absorbed One!
your oft repeated promise no answer to my fears;
worthless grace withheld from least favored men
yet abundantly showered on a few favorite ones.

Times when your comforting presence is needed
is when You stay away, nonchalantly forsaking,
responding to humanity's helpless plea, if at all,
on tyrant's whim than true providential mercy.

Finally I learn at last out in this long, lonely road
to shape destiny's hand solely through my power,
neither asking nor begging for hyped up generosity
that more often than not is just 'hit or miss' anyway!

He gave us all we needed but the political greed and the choices we make contradict more than follow. God Bless. Vince

Congrats on your selection, "Magnum Opus." I guess that's what writing is all about....color, illuminate, clarify through words...great introspection too. Love, Daver

That is a very powerful write indeed...It conveys such great emotion..I hope everything is "cool" where you are Fred... PS: hahahah! There are no apple trees in the UAE! n' if by any chance there were, they would be melting in the lavid heat...I am in Jordan at the moment, getting apples from the apple trees of our garden... then going out eating them on the street ...Take good care Fred... Yes, it certainly seems to be that way doesn't it. Perhaps though, in the end, there will be a reason for it all. I do not know. Hope you are ok Fred. Such strong emotion and introspection here. Love always, Shar
