Hit and Run

Hit and run

Crowd on road
Siren of an ambulance
Hue and cry.......

A speeding car that hit,
and poor man died
on the spot,
Rather than a rescue
or offering a help,
The driver chose to run.

Lifeless body
Amidst pool of blood
As if in deep sleep........

Blame who ?
Disrespect for life,
Irreverent attitude,
Inhuman behaviour,
What if someone else ran
After hitting his own dears ?

Introspection
Till justice prevails
Mankind hails.........

Nice write. Listening to the news last night about a terrorist attack on a train. He was stopped by bystanders, nice to know not all is bad in the world.

It reminds me of an incident in Bombay. A body was lying in the middle of the road, bleeding from a head injury, but life just went around him like nothing is there. congrats on your win.

This is a great write, a very poignant piece. But I'm afraid I've had so many strong, more traditional haibun entered into this contest, that this piece will not be making my top 20. I will however be giving it a honourable mention, so that others may follow the link and be inspired by your words. Thank you for entering, and making this contest the success it has been.
