His Side of the Bed

His watch stays in the same spot
on the nightstand next to the radio
reading glasses beside
his favorite book, the bible
on his side of the bed

The pillow smells of aftershave
sheets entangled with the blankets
bundled where he used to sleep
soaked in my fallen tears
on his side of the bed

Grasping your gray shirt
in my female laden hands
just to feel you within my soul
helps me to fall asleep
on his side of the bed

Thinking of how much
I still miss him so
how empty it really is
lying naked without you
on his side of the bed
