His Rain Songs

His Rain Songs (inspired by Stephen Kilmer's poem, Rain Songs) Was glad you came back, my childhood friend from Nam. Look at the friends of the dead; they cry when it rains. My friend flinches, cries, or shouts. Forever nightmares. The dead are resting now.

War changes people for the rest of their lives. Your poem embraces the emotional pain of war so well. It was so nice to hear from you Kathy. Is your email still the same? I would love to catch up. Blessings

Creative lines written in this one. I can imagine that this illness is horrible for those that have it and for their families. I think it was what was wrong with my brothers after being in the military. We also know a person who served more recently who was diagnosed with it. He has a hard time. I don't think a person ever gets over it. The sad thing is there is at least one test that can be done that can tell ahead of time those most likely to suffer from it. Sara
