His Presence

I am safer in the storms,
With Christ as my anchor,
Than in the still waters,
With the arm of flesh as the anchor.

I hope in the steadfast Rock of Ages,
With all confidence I trust in him,
Than in the sinking sand of time,
Where hope ends in disappointment.

I resolutely made the utmost sacrifice,
Within and without yielding all to Christ,
That he invest me with value,
Where I, in his stead do serve.

I will never fear the tempest,
With Christ in my vessel,
The wildest tumult is under control,
Waves as ministers bring Christ to me,

I, overwhelmed by life's biollows,
When I come to my wits end then,
My Saviour's power ends the journey,
When man's strength is exhausted.
