His Mistake
My brother turned 23 the night he made his mistake.
Both of them were looking for a fight.
You hit her with a door and chased her with a knife.
Police found you driving loaded that night.
You were stuffed and cuffed on the spot.
She was terrified of what you did.
Stripping you of your rights,
behind bars is where you sit.
Originally your original charge was 60 years,
your looking at 12 years instead.
Every letter I write another piece of me dies.
Night after night I lay in my bed.
Dreaming of the day when this will all end.
Missing you in every way,
Never let your memories fade away.
We will be together again someday.
