His Lantern Leads the Way
Rob’s lantern leads the way to home,
upon a dark October night.
With dragging feet too tired to roam,
he’s grateful for the glowing light.
Upon a dark October night,
a message came to cause alarm.
He’s grateful for the glowing light.
Help needed at the neighbor’s farm.
A message came to cause alarm.
Rob’s friend had put his work to rest.
Help needed at the neighbor’s farm.
A heart attack within the breast.
Rob’s friend had put his work to rest,
he’d turned around to go inside.
A heart attack within the breast,
a grunting moan, and then he died.
He’d turned around to go inside,
not knowing it would be the end.
A grunting moan, and then he died.
He left his wife and faithful friend.
Not knowing it would be the end,
he left his wife and faithful friend.
With dragging feet too tired to roam,
Rob’s lantern leads the way to home.
