His All Seeing Eye
His all Seeing Eye [PoetrySoup contest]
Life is fragile, handle with prayer;
May your poems breathe fanfare.
No need to plan apology
With lines armed in kneeology.
The mouth tastes food as ears test words,¹
Bad verse is written by poetic nerds.
Keep lines fresh and somewhat terse;
Readers will yearn for more verse.
Saturate poems with worthwhile stuff,
Then they’ll never get enough.
All good verse runs to the sea, ²
Yet never overflows its destiny.
¹Job 34:3, ²Ecclesiastes 1:7
