Hinkle wood
As we approached gingerly to the wood
two people exploring the unknown.
The gate opened and we trod on fresh snow
Stepping carefully on the crisp surface
meandering through the trees
Each branch laden with snow creating a lacy picture
Silence and peace echoed around us
We were surrounded by a mass of trees leading to a summerhouse.
it stood with memories of a hot summer
Berries hung like jewels crystallised with icy snow
We both talked of beauty which we discovered
and made our way home
