Highway Path

We see one another… day to day
Along life’s little highway
A glance, a smile and nod here or there
Covering a facade too much to bear.
Not a truth known or what is shared
Where smiles are seen, but no one cares
How much is loss with nothing to say
Along the path of life’s highway
