Highway of Heroes -Yama-

People gather around wait for them to come home, our heroes of war their free spirits, now roam. People do salute them travel the 4 0 1, the Highway Of Heroes sits beneath the hot sun. It's a dedication to those that gave their lives, the long stretch of highway is there, when they arrive. Copyright Cynthia Jones Sept.10/2007 I thought it was a great idea, for them to name Highway 401, in Ontario, Canada, Highway Of Heroes. It is a wonderful dedication, for our troops, that arrive home on their way to the Coroner's Office. May our Heroes, always be remembered. I just found this out on the news this weekend.

I see you are a fellow Canadian. I now live in Kelowna BC but lived most of my life in Ontario. I lived in Kitchener before moving out west, so I have spent a great deal of time driving the 401. This is a very thoughtful tribute to our fallen troops.

Well penned, Cynthia. How great that you have a Highway of Heroes. Your form is Quatrain. Nicely done.

I've never heard of a Yama, that's a new one on me. I like to learn new forms too. THANKS, I will look that one up and try one.

Cona, yes it sure is great. This form is a Yama my friend. I seek out different poetry styles, so I can try them out. Each verse....is only 6 syllables each. Thank you so very much for stopping by to have a read and leave a comment. I truly appreciate it. *S* Cynthia
