Highway
Driving on the highway.
Body tired.
Mind Exhausted.
Over rivers of cement.
Under rising jumbo jets, bellies exposed.
Suddenly a flash of sunlight
hits the taillight
of the car in front of me,
creating the image of a bright,
white, hot diamond.
It dazzles.
For one brief moment
the chemical reaction of
reflected sunlight
and my own weary mind
produces a most surprising
but acute state of clarity.
Perhaps, even wisdom.
