Highschool Crush

Roses are red
Violets are blue
When I lay in bed
I dream of you

On my first day at school
You said hello and winked at me
You stood there looking so cool
I knew that we were meant to be

Since that very first day
I knew my heart was true
That I’d follow you all the way
From here to Timbuktu

I think we were made for each other
Soulmates through and through
For me there couldn’t be another
I hope you feel the same way too

We can’t stop looking at each other in math class
I love it when you flirt with me that way
Let’s bite the bullet and break the impasse
Will you take me to the dance this Saturday?

This is so funny to me as my first write for this contest included a wink the first day of school. Good luck in the contest, Line. When I had to re-write it because I had forgotten to RHYME it, I left out the wink. Good luck in the contest, Line.
