Hiding Place
Yesterday, I ran away from home.
I no longer felt welcome there.
So, I commenced to roam.
Where am I? No one knows where!
I've had lots of hiding places -
like inside a barrel of wine.
I make sure to leave no traces -
That aftertaste ain't mine.
One day, I hid behind your couch.
You didn't know I was there,
and once inside a roo's pouch
'til I bounced out in the air
I've been to every place and land,
Traveling mostly by balloon.
Once, I decided to expand,
and I sailed up to the moon.
But, I am getting lonely, see -
because I'm so good at hiding.
So, I will tell you secretly
the tricky place I'm residing.
Yesterday, I ran away from home
Guess what - I'm hiding in this poem.
