Hiding behind a mask
In this strange world of ours
everyone looks the same
as we hide behind a mask
we realize how much we need to see
the expressions one makes as we communicate
the emotions of a smile
now only a glimmer from our eye
the sadness of the new normal
now becomes a tear
holding back the pain when we look at a loved one
we are trying to comfort
as we hide behind a mask
