Hiding
The feel of my sweat trickles down my body
Like serpents evading and merging with one another
they slither down my neck
searching blindly with their tongues as they reach down my back
Returning to the pores of my skin
as others descend to my legs 'till they evaporate into the air
their lifespan is repeated every time I feel you nearing
Hoping to go deaf to the sounds of my own heart
for each beat, my body ripples
as a lake disturbed by the morning rain
causing the fish to swim sporadically, crashing, creating waves
hoping that the movement is imaginary
so I can be unheard to ears other than mine
My eyes take pictures of every movement
shadows overcoming each shot
darkness overwhelming since there is no flash
courage is lingering, or is it curiosity?
May I be allowed to see more?
More than through the slits across this door
hopefully the light is gone, how much of night can I prolong...
