Hide and Seek
I seek but cannot find.
You hide yourself too well.
I’m always far behind in my search for where you dwell
I cover up my eyes
And listen for your voice.
If you’d drop your disguise then my poor heart would rejoice…
It’s like some kind of game.
You’re always out of sight.
My tiny little flame won’t burn out of control tonight.
I run so as to win.
Again, I lose the race.
As soon as I begin, I am already in last place.
Comes down to motes and beams…
The world goes to the meek…
But all my self-esteem won’t accept the words you speak.
And all I want to do
Is walk here, by your side
But it is also true that as I seek, I hide…
