Hidden Deep

Everyday I fight with myself
Trying to out run this cold feeling
If my dreams never come true
If I don't fall in love with you
I will sink into the sea
and you will never find me
It gets so redundant
But unless I'm something than I'm nothing
Emptiness is all I feel
I mistake lust with something real
Why can't I ever get a grip?
Am I meant to always slip?
Opening my heart maybe
the best habit I ever start
But it could also be my demise
A heart like mines can't deal
with another Mr. Wrong
I repeat the words in my head
So I won't forget that failure
happens for a reason
It's not an option but it's always in season
Tell me if I give up on myself will I be
committing treason?
I have so many dreams that I can't quite reach
They say it's my fault because
I don't listen to what they preach
Resentment gnaws at your soul just like a leech
Yet all I want is the hidden password
Tell me what I have to breach
To reach my dreams
