Hidden Anguish

Listen to poem:
Written: January 21, 2024 ____________________________________ Its lack of meaning is puzzling The smile on my face The pure one is evanescent I ditched you in afar space Nobody cares of my anguish Or even witness my tears They presume I'm laughing Yet I regret not having you here Nobody grasps how inure it is They believe me to be fearless I'm told it won't harm me Yet, I suppose this is witless. Vivid feelings for you turn idle They believe I was set free Still, it's as if chains bind me I am tangled in the mystery Nobody feels I need you badly They expect I can handle it alone But they don't grasp I'm bawling In a state of utter lassitude Today, I lost something dear I lost something unreal The core of my soul has left lately My loss has devastated me My beliefs have vanished Once I felt adducible, I lost I lost my core convictions In sadness, I cry—why me?

Dear Sotto Poet, A poem of deep anguish and complicating emotions is always a formidable challenge for the writer. Yours is a work of unparalleled enduring quality. You explore the harrowing world of loss and tragedy with the utmost compassion. I’m flattered by your generous reaction to my Pearl-Eyed Riser 2 work Howard Kerr

Your poignant poem skilfully captures the complexity of emotions surrounding a personal loss. The opening lines, "Its lack of meaning is puzzling. The smile on my face," immediately set the tone for a contemplative exploration of the disconnect between external appearances and internal struggles...

Ah dr sotto what a deep and heartfelt poem is this, do poignant and how sometimes people dont see the hidden feelings beneath smiles, it takes some special souls to realize and see the truth behind ones strength , the anguish and grief of loss, and how one grieves the loss of their truth and core convictions which they lost, while tangled in mystery! The way you express through various forms of poetry is always so very impressive and soulful! Another one of your impeccable poems! Pleasure readin

Sad for you. I am sure those that say you are better off, only say it to convince you not to let the feeling of loss get too great. Its a way we humans have to console others, but not always the best way. Your poem is so touching Las, I feel the anguish that caused you to write such a poem, so wonderfully well. Cheers sweet friend.

dearest Sotto--I felt sadness, anguish, and desperation. These words echo the feelings my hubby felt when his first life, his first love, left him decades ago...shook him to the core and even his core beliefs came into question. It was a marriage that was destined not to work... Even now, he sometimes asks, "Why me? Why?" Answers do not come....peace has, however, over the years. I appreciate your emotions conveyed in glorious, poetic lines. Have a pleasant day, your poetess friend in Texas,Sara

Wow!! Lost your core convictions. That is serious unless your core beliefs or convictions were leading you the wrong way. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Such forlorn words paint saddened emotions: --Still, it's as if chains bind me I am tangled in the mystery---I hear the anguish. Well delivered, my friend.
