SOMETIMES I GAZE UPON THE SEA
TO SEEK THEREIN TRANQUILITY
BUT THE SURFACE CALM DOES MUCH TO HIDE
THE TENACITY OF ITS TURNING TIDES

AND ALL MY THOUGHTS TOO DEEP TO SHARE
I TELL MYSELF ARE SAFER THERE

SOMETIMES I GAZE UPON THE MOON
ITS GENTLE LIGHT FADES ALL TOO SOON
AND DARKNESS LEADS ME INTO DAWN
JUST LIKE A BABY BEING BORN

WITH MY WISHES FIRMLY PLANTED
BEFORE THEY WERE EVER GRANTED

AND ALL MY THOUGHTS TOO DEEP TO SHARE
WERE YOURS TO KEEP SHOULD YOU HAVE CARED
