Hidden

I saw her while attending college
     The ugliest girl on campus
Acne scar tissue covered her face
Might as well have been hit by a bus

My first thought, "that poor girl
     will NEVER find anyone who
wants to marry her". Fate came
calling, she sat next to me in class.

     We started talking, magic allure.
Who is this girl ! Her intelligence
     truly fascinating, could easily
challenge me in debate about ANY topic !

Who is she ? Nobody beats
me in debate ! Her mind sharp, yet kind
The depths of her a fathomless ocean
So unique, she can make me laugh !

     Heated debate turned into passion.
     Our hearts pounding as one.
Under soft glow of starlight, I asked her to marry
Was my best day when she said "yes"

The only line I would change is the one about "a woman"*, as the girl hasn't reached that stage of her life yet for you to compare. Other than that, well done for this poem's composition, and congratulations to you, Bruce. Thank you for entering my contest. //*You put it in plural anyway, so you need to change that.
