Hey Mom I Want You
I wanted this mom but she does not want me.
She might change her mind, so I wait.
In limbo.
For her decision.
She is holding all the cards.
She has been wavering for weeks.
I do want her, do not want her.
I sit patiently, unconcerned.
Knowing the angels will come get me either way.
Sooner or later. This is what always happens.
Hey, mom, I say to her. I want you.
In a few weeks the angels come and get me.
Bringing me back to wait for a different mother.
I do not take it personally.
It was her loss, not mine.
