Hey Dad
I would have bought a pony for her
but I never had a daughter.
Maybe I would have sought-out a unicorn
in some magical realm –
I would have tried.
I see her now
she smiling at her loving father
a Princess in a dolls house.
My adult son
(who turned out just great
despite my lame parenting),
overhearing my soliloquy
