Hesitate

I write
I think
I feel
yet when it comes together
I hesitate
I rethink
I erase
then I go no further
I start
I think
I don't
then put it away for another day.

Sometimes I catch a phrase. I write it down right away and then I let it take the lead. It's called inspiration.

Thanks for the hint I have written down phrases but then feel like it is not mine. Will think of it as inspiration from now on. love phyl

Hesitation before posting is a good thing, Phyllis; shows that you take your work seriously. Being fussy about what we share with others is a sign of maturity. If we are not completely happy with the end result, it's best to give it a break and go back to it later on. ~ Best regards // paul

Many a poem I have written half way and kept on my computer to continue with it some other time, because an idea has suddenly popped into my mind and It can't wait, I have it thought out almost to the end, what i feel within me, and what I must put on paper then, now and I know that it will always be so. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

Hello Phyllis ... writing poetry is a bit like facing the ocean. Some days smooth and calm; other days turbulent, angry, and needs a rewrite - thank you Phyllis - Lindsay
