(For my beloved big brother, Mike, who is facing a very difficult time ... I love you so much. This is my brother and I at age five and one, respectively - he has always watched out for me, now ... I will watch out for him).
~
I know you face a darkness, nigh unknown,
But as with all such hardships,
You won't face it alone ...
Before you yawns a crevice, dark and deep,
Still, I am with you, Brother,
To light its somber keep ...
And if you find its fearsome depths too wide,
I'll put you on my shoulders,
And we'll reach the other side.
