He's Gone!!
I no longer regret
The day we first met
As now I can truly see
Residue of what you left me
Not just the knives at my throat
Not just the angry words you wrote
Or scars on my heart and my soul
The nightmares I'm not able to control
You left me the loves in my life
The children conceived as your wife
Your anger and violent ways
Those memories may last all my days
You no longer control me with fear
No longer injure my mind for now it's clear
I did all I could to make us work
You chose the things to make you a jerk
Alcohol and drugs to set you free
Though you tried you didn't take my life from me
I made the choice to be free thats true
To save our children from becoming like you
