He's Always Been There

He’s always been there
Throughout the years,
Making me laugh
And wiping away my tears.

He’s always been there
Teaching me how to stand,
Encouraging me to try
Telling me I can.

He’s always been there
To chase away my fear,
Shielding me from the monsters
I was sure would appear.

He’s always been there
To catch me when I fall,
Encouraging me to be strong
And always stand tall.

He’s always been there
Believing in my dreams,
Listening with a smile
When I let off steam.

He’s always been there
Protecting me from harm,
Spoiling my children
With his grandpa charm.

He’s always been there
A treasure from above,
He’s not just my dad
He’s the father I love.
