He's a kind neighbor

He's a kind neighbor, rare to find these days
Helpful, respectful, giving in so many ways
All the while his wife he loves is sadly ailing
He provides day to day clearly, without failing
Retired from a long working life, a thoughtful volunteer too
Carrying a sense of humor that will help you laugh and renew
He's a kind neighbor, rare to find these days
He brings light with his presence and follows God's ways
The world needs more people like him, neighbor to neighbor aside
Bringing blessings, bringing light, where there's no need to hide

That is a true blessing Heidi, and rarely seen these days. Even my neighbors have pulled within their homes and rarely seen, they use to be outside and friendly, waving to one another, ready to lend a hand or kind word. The world has grown darker, and I think a lot of people no longer want to interact with anyone. If we wave at the new neighbors, they just look at us like "Weirdos" which hurts. So, we too have become more reclusive. It is sad. I miss the good ole days a lot.

Oh BJ . That is very sad. You are right. Lately, it is rare and such a blessing to be found. I hope things get better somehow. Thank you for your comment on this :)

A wonderful description of this rarer-than-rare species, Heidi. I remember people like this --- from the 1950's. Not since. The sickening '60's changed this country for the worse forever. I may be an 'outlier,' esp. among Poetry Soupers, but I find the '60's to have been one horror after another, and the Baby Boomers Generation, my generation, to be America's worst ever... on the heels of the Greatest Generation too. ~ Just Sayin'
