Hero In a Cage
He stared dreamy in her eyes,
Soul haggard, dirtied `nd scared,
And thought upon his fate,
Tanned skin in silk and lace.
He took a swig again.
Just one.. .
To help him think.
She craved heroes stained with war.
No thought of hell to bear.
And got the fighter she had spied,
Full burdened with the scars of war,
Bad dreams and pain galore
Black nights and bloody gore.
Like a Hero in a cage.
And one night,
Without regret, she left,
just as she had come.
Like some Dew upon a leaf.
He stared stiffly in his void,
soul haggard, dirtied `nd scared,
and thought upon his fate.
All`s lost and no refrain,
another smile appeared.
Like an Angel in his life.
