Hero

A soldier dies-a mother cries, a heart broken, words left unspoken, So young a soldier laid to rest, a shiny medal upon his chest. A soldier dies-a lover weeps, a memory now for her to keep, so young a soldier to fight and die, forever she will ask God why. A soldier dies- a child sobs, of a father the son is robbed, so proud this son will grow to be when a man-to believe his death was in God's plan. A soldier dies- a life is lost- we all count the human cost, sacrifices they have made-I know not why-why so man good men have to die.
