Here We Stand
Here we stand
on the cliffs of society
as they crumble beneath our feet.
We scrape and claw
at the wall behind us,
trying to stop from falling
into the abyss of hatred.
You feel
the final stones give way.
You plummet backwards
towards the ground,
the pressure bursts your eardrums
and your brain screams in pain,
while you struggle to breathe
as the air rushes by.
Your heart heaves in your chest
as you feel stone spikes of malice
tear through your hide.
