Here For a Season

Winter thread softly
on his way out
spring slowly crept in
bringing new colors
touching gentle earth
with her warm breath
she kissed the floral petals
awakening them from sleep
she scattered last years seeds
into the gentle puff of wind
so they produce new greenery
winter looked back with a sigh
slowly dropping his white coat
knowing his season was done.

Hello Phyllis … can barely wait for our spring. It's been such a cold, windy, and showery winter that needs to end. Your poem shows me there is a light at the end of the tunnel - Lindsay
