Here apostrophe s hoping

Hope is on my ceiling
suffusing through the air
Hides beneath floorboards
that rot beyond repair
Hope is all pervasive
can lead anywhere
Very hard to pinpoint
and totally unaware

Hope is unapologetic
doesn’t really care
Probably won’t happen
if it does, hope its fair
Hope is a fantasy
from my comfort chair
Soothing, calming,
keeps away despair

Hope is beautiful
ugly when unfair
Can be quite powerful
when beyond all care
Hope is fifty fifty
perhaps a dream to share
Save mine for the grave
God knows, I’ll need it there

Hello David, being the metaphysical man that I am, I do find hope that has a purpose to be great logotherapy (Viktor Frankle). After reading it two or three times I do like how you explored the complex nature of hope. Because it is quite elusive, contradictory, and sometimes illusory concept. While it can provide comfort and motivation, it can also be deceptive and ultimately unfulfilling. - Blessings, my Friend, Daniel

Man’s search for meaning by Frankel, is quite an extraordinary read, considering he survived the holocaust, although some other concentration camp survivors had a different outlook like (where was god in Auschwitz), I do wonder if animals experience hope too, or is it just part of the human condition. Thanks so much Daniel for sharing the quote and insightful comment, cheers David

Thank you Paula, hope really is everywhere and nowhere at any given time, we definitely need it, could well be incorporeal or intangible, but without it life would be pretty hopeless, cheers David

Never give up on hope David and when the unexpected happens it's jump for joy. When it doesn't, a good stiff drink will take the edge off. Lol. Tom

Wise words Tom, (one just never knows) I think is the overriding factor here especially with hope, without it we’d all be on stiff drinks or Prozac, I do hope PS starts allowing apostrophes in the poem titles? thanks for stopping by, cheers David
