Hercules
This is a tale of a Legend
In Greek mythology
He completed twelve labours
His name was Hercules
His first was the Nemean lion
This was a monstrous beast
It had an impenetrable hide
No arrow could make it bleed
He blocked off one of the exits
A simple cunning plan
Then cornered the lion in its cave
Ready to take his stand
He stunned the lion with his club
And strangled it to death
Then skinned the beast with its claw
Completing the first test
He made a cloak of armour
A symbol of his strength
And wore that golden pelt
Everywhere he went
This was a test of his courage
That every eye would see
When King Eurystheus saw him
He was terrified of Hercules
