Her Stranger Eyes

POEM " HER STRANGER EYES " by martin gedge

The devil deceives the aimless light
for those that shadow near
to run among the dead of night
into the arms of fear
a rendezvous of lust and crime
with jewels of every name
where dollar cents will past the time
and walkers rule the game
a victim in a vicious thrill
where hunger leaves a mark
to line the streets to get their fill
with every poison dart
the signs to dare the foolish soul
an urge he cannot win
to follow where the leaders go
into a bed of sin
and passion kills the lonely heart
for all the cheats and lies
if you look into the cold and dark
you'll see her stranger eyes
