Notes About The Poem

Her Soft Hands

Her soft warm hand holds up the umbrella,
Holds it above my mind,
Protects me from the wind and rain,
Protects me from the wild,

Thoughts and words uttered in silence,
Uttered from way up high,
Falling toward me like drops of ache,
Cascading from the sky,

And she gives a glimpse of sunnier days,
Her other hand cradles my chin,
She opens my eyes to a future world,
She shows me where to begin,

The journey for the next stage of my life,
Her hand shields me from the cold,
With her umbrella of beautiful love,
She warms my future, my heart, my soul.

I instantly thought grandma hands; it does not matter. It is beautiful, no matter who you are tribute making, Lewis.
