Her Protectors

He locked the doors and shuttered the windows, it came in through the roof, or down the chimney, he wasn't sure. All he knew was his demons had found him, alone and vulnerable. No strength could fight them, no words could discourage. He was at their mercy. They moved quickly, surrounding the little girl he had stolen, attacking him on every front, at every turn. He had no choice but to run. They may have been his demons, but they were her protectors.
