Her Heart

She walks in with a quiet confidence
Her curves filling time and space
Inside thoughts of raging despair
not shown on her face
she understands but always wonders
why she always feels this way
they don’t see the struggle within
they only see what she shows to them
if she showed the unfeigned parts
it would clearly break their hearts
so she puts on her smile and slowly moves on
knowing they will never know
the truth of her damaged heart
