Her Birthday
Another one has come and gone,
another year, for goodness sake!
Every time you turn around,
another candle on the cake!
For sure there’s nothing we can do,
when it comes to father time!
The damned old fool keeps moving on,
I swear that it’s a crime!
Life can make you feel so rich,
like you’ve won a million bucks.
Some times it’s like a vacuum,
I mean it really sucks!
But put your problems all aside,
at least for this one day.
Reflect upon the blessings,
that may have come your way.
I have a deep respect for you,
of that you can be sure!
Your common sense, and your demeanor,
make me feel secure!
But of all the things, I wish for you,
the most important one, by far,
is that you’ll never, ever change,
just stay the way you are!
So, have a Happy Birthday dear.
You deserve it, I’ll attest.
I wish you many more returns,
cause to me you are the best!
