Her
'Her'
1. Like tracks on snow, she left a dent in my heart.
Bold, dark, and beautiful she was.
Praised by her underdogs, she sought.
Blessed by the heavens with humor; charming and smart.
2. She burst through the doors, wearing a smile I found plain at first sight.
If only I had known, it would grow to become my greatest plight.
Mom taught me to believe in goodness and sincerity in all.
She recalled her dark views of the fairy-lit city, said it was 'maul'.
3. Was she heaven-sent? Angel-speak or Hell-created?
Under the passion of her touch, the bed creaks
Like diamonds crafted from an unassuming rock, she seized my attention.
Hand in hand, we were synchronized. Her frankness, I desperately hated.
4. Stumbled down the rabbit hole of her enchantment.
Dancing and singing all night in her golden slippers.
Cinderella.
Hoping the night will run forever.
Pitter-patter raindrops washing away the deception in our agreement.
5. From dawn to dusk, we take the same steps daily.
Hair skipping in the wind, she is my friend, my love letters mailing.
In my deepest daydreams, I pretend she is a moth and I am the flame.
Someday, it will make it all easier to earn the blame.
6. Loved her like winter, cold, distant, and destructive.
Who knew infatuation and trust were pals on opposite coins?
